Candle Care

Candle Care is important! Learn how to look after, and get the most out of, your candle with these simple tips...
Trim your Wick
Before each and every burn, trim your wick to approximately 5mm. When re-lighting, ensure your candle has cooled completely from the previous burn and trim the wick using a wick trimmer. This will prevent your candle from smoking, minimise soot and will promote an even and clean burn
Memory Burn
When burning your candle for the first time, it is recommended you allow it to burn for at least 3-4 hours so the melted wax reaches the edges of the vessel. This is called a 'Memory Burn' and will prevent your candle from tunneling during subsequent burns
Extinguishing Your Candle
Don't blow out your candle! For a safe, clean and effective way to extinguish your candle, we recommend using a Wick Dipper. Simply use the Dipper to dip the wick into the melt pool, extinguishing it and priming it for the next burn
General Care
Never leave your candle burning unattended
Keep your candle out of reach of little fingers
Burn your candle on a safe and stable surface, in a draft free area and away from other candles or objects
Store your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight - This will cause discolouration to the wax
Never attempt to move a candle while it is burning. Extinguish and allow to cool first
Once finished, wash your candle jar with warm, soapy water and re-use as you please!
